Eduardo Capetillo and Bibi Gaytán have very different origins. Eduardo is part of the Capetillo family, known in Mexico for being traditional bullfighters. It is safe to say that Eduardo comes from a famous family.
Bibi, on the other hand, comes from a simpler family. She was born in the state of Chiapas, and her parents were an architect and a ballet teacher. Of course, from an early age they both had very similar interests in acting and music.
Timbiriche
In 1988, while visiting Mexico City, Bibi decided to audition to be part of Timbiriche. The famous pop band at the time was made up only of young people. Gaytán won over the jury in the audition and from that moment on she was part of the group.
It was in Timbiriche that Gaytán met Eduardo Capetillo. This actor and singer was part of the band from 1985 to 1989. Thanks to this, Bibi was able to share a few months of friendship with Eduardo before he left the group.
It wasn’t love at first sight
Being in Timbiriche, between Gaytán and Capetillo there was nothing more than a beautiful friendship. This was not only due to the fact that Eduardo shared with Bibi only a few months in the group. The truth is that by that time both had other sentimental interests.
Eduardo had been previously linked to several of his bandmates. It was also known that Bibí started dating Diego Schoening and later rumors of a possible relationship with Bertin Osborne arose.

In 1991 Bibí left music and the band Timbiriche to venture into the world of acting. By 1992 she got her first leading role in a children’s soap opera called Baila conmigo.
It is in this novela where she reunites with Eduardo Capetillo, since both were the main characters of the story. After 3 years without working together they crossed paths again, and this time both were single.
Love has arrived
Thanks to their chemistry, little by little the romance went from the screen to real life. By this time Eduardo was 22 years old and Bibi was only 20. In a very short time they became a couple acclaimed by the media.
Both of their careers were on the rise, and everyone was talking about them. Not only were they young soap opera stars, but they also came from the musical phenomenon Timbiriche. Their relationship was of interest to practically everyone.

The engagement lasted only months, as Bibi and Eduardo set the wedding for June 1994. When they got married they had just completed 2 years of relationship.
“Don’t get married”
It took him years to admit it, but Eduardo Capetillo revealed that before his wedding those close to him advised him not to do it. “Don’t get married, you’re making a mistake, you’re going to get divorced…”, were, among others, the advice Capetillo had to listen to.
However, as he would declare 25 years later, it was his heart that finally gave him the answer to the doubt that others were trying to plant in his head. As he himself has said, “What did I end up doing? What my heart dictated, was I wrong or not? That answer I leave to you.”
The Marriage
On June 25, 1994 Eduardo and Bibi got married in the state of Morelos. Specifically, they were married in the Chiconcuac hacienda, a construction that dates back to the 16th century and has great cultural significance for the state.
The event was broadcasted by the biggest Mexican TV networks and was considered the wedding of the year due to the magnitude of the event. Of course, great personalities of national and international show business were invited.
Got married pregnant?
Only weeks after the wedding it could be confirmed what everyone already suspected. Bibi got married while pregnant. In fact, the wide-cut wedding dress had served to hide the belly that was beginning to show.
In August 1994, just a few months after their wedding, the couple’s firstborn was born. They named the child Eduardo Capetillo Gaytán, after his father. Many media claimed that pregnancy was the main reason for the wedding.
They continued working together
After the wedding, Eduardo and Bibi continued working together on several projects. One of these was the famous telenovela Camila, which they both had the opportunity to star in in 1998.
Since they were the couple of the moment, endless opportunities opened up for them in Mexican and international television. However, little by little the family was growing and everything was becoming a little more complicated because of the work commitments of both.
Ana Paula’s arrival
In 1997 Ana Paula Capetillo, the couple’s second daughter, was born. Of course, this brought with it a new responsibility and the obligation to turn down several professional projects to take care not only of the new baby, but also of Eduardo Junior, who was barely 3 years old.
At 25 and 27 years old respectively, the couple not only had their work life and their life as a couple on top of them, but they also had 2 beautiful children to take care of. However, they would not stop with Ana Paula, the couple wanted to enlarge the family even more.
Alejandra was born
In 1999, what the couple thought would be their third and last daughter was born. They named her Alejandra Capetillo Gaytán, and of the 3 children of the Capetillo family, she is possibly the most similar to her mother.
By 1999, thanks to the birth of Alejandra and the fact that Eduardo Junior and Ana Paula were 5 and 2 years old respectively, Bibi was forced to take a long break from work. From 1999 to 2008 the actress was mainly dedicated to her family and had no major public appearances.
The last novel
After a break of 9 years, Bibi returned again to the screens to act with her husband in the telenovela En nombre del amor, of the Televisa network. In this case neither of the 2 had a leading role, however, the telenovela was a great success.
En nombre del amor was the last telenovela in which Bibi participated. Although Eduardo continued acting for a couple more years, she decided to dedicate herself indefinitely to the care of her family, so she stayed away from the media for quite a while.
The Academy
In 2012 the Capetillo Gaytán couple was invited to be part of the new season of La Academia. A reality show where new talents are trained. Eduardo was assigned the position of director, and Bibi was assigned the position of presenter.
However, thanks to rumors of infidelity on Eduardo’s part and a bad attitude on the part of the couple, both were ousted mid-competition. La Academia was the last major project in which Eduardo participated.
